Packaging to visualize the music
Designing an album cover or, more still, completely designing the packaging for an album or collection of several volumes, requires various skills on the part of the designer, to be employed on a small object. Knowing how to illustrate, adjust photographs and make them harmoniously dialogue with the typography, layout the information, design lettering like a logo, are just some of these. Awareness of the greatest number of graphic styles possible is required, to be employed in line with the raison d’être of the commercial and cultural product: the music. An aesthetic balance must be achieved between the short-term commercial requirements of the record and its future collectable quality.
More than ten years of experience in this area have allowed us to pair our visual and musical sensitivity, while our work has focused on ensuring that ultimately, when the disc returns from the factory, «it looks like it sounds».
